New Year’s Eve Celebrations

Argos Inn is a favorite place to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Ithaca. This boutique venue combines 19th-century elegance and charm with contemporary and engaging events. In past years, Argos Inn has hosted its NYE party in two adjacent spaces: Bar Argos and the Argos Warehouse. An outdoor patio connects both venues with cozy fire pits and plenty of space to enjoy live music, DJs, dancing, and carefully crafted cocktails.

New Year's Eve Champagne

This year, The Hotel Ithaca is ringing in the New Year with a “Viva Las Vegas” celebration. Guests can look forward to dancing, live DJs, and a festive champagne toast to welcome 2025. One- and two-night packages are now available for booking, so reserve your spot today!

Directly across from the Hotel Ithaca, you'll find Coltivare New Years Eve events with a fine dining experience to mark your special night. With or without beverage pairsing, you can do the full multi-course meal or choose to just join the soiree with a champagne toast and hors d'oeuvres.

For live bands and a friendly crowd, The Deep Dive is another fantastic spot to dance and celebrate on New Year's Eve. The venue often features ticketed performances by talented local and touring artists to ring in the New Year. Stay tuned for more!

Fresh Start to 2025 in Ithaca

If partying isn’t your main vibe, kick off New Year’s Day with a refreshing First Day Hike at Taughannock Falls State Park. This popular New Year’s tradition offers breathtaking views of the 215-foot waterfall and a chance to explore trails through a stunning winter landscape. The Gorge Trail (1.5 miles) is perfect for those looking for a leisurely winter hike, while the North Rim Trail offers a more challenging hike with panoramic views.

For those eager to extend their adventure, the park's multi-use trails provide an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in nature. The official meet-up time is Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Gorge Trail Parking Lot, where park rangers will be waiting to greet and guide you to the trailhead!

If you're looking for more outdoor options, Ithaca Falls has a gorgeous view just minutes from Downtown. The cascading 150-foot waterfall is particularly stunning in winter, with frozen formations. To continue your tour of Ithaca’s frozen falls, check out our Half-Day Ithaca Waterfall Itinerary. For a fun-filled day winter day, head to Rice Hill, where you can enjoy sledding, ice skating, and snowshoeing. Pro Tip: The on-site warming hut (with a wood stove) makes it one of the coziest places to spend New Year’s Day.
